Santa Ponsa II feels enclosed by its landscape. From the tee, the aim is not simply to generate as much distance as possible. What often matters is which side of the fairway the ball should finish on and which hazards will come into play on the following shot.

The scorecard also shows several long par fours and three par fives on the back nine. Players who frequently miss sideways, however, must contend with trees, poor angles or water.
